Betsy graduated from Appalachian State University with a BS in Psychology in 2003 and earned her M.A. and Ed.S in Mental Health Counseling from Gardner Webb University in 2015. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor through the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors and holds certification as a National Certified Counselor. Prior to becoming an outpatient therapist, Betsy spent over 12 years providing community and school-based mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. She currently provides person-centered, strengths-based mental health counseling using techniques from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, developmental psychology, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Betsy provides empathy, respect, and acceptance to all individuals.
