Katherine Smith  MSW, LCSWA, LCAS-A

Katt is an outpatient therapist at PCH. In 2017 she graduated with honors from the University of Mobile with a Bachelor of Arts in Intercultural Studies, and in 2022 she went on to receive her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Troy University. She is a licensed clinical social work associate (LCSWA), and a licensed clinical addiction specialist associate (LCAS-A). Katt works from a person-in-environment framework to offer supportive care to clients from all backgrounds. She provides person-centered, strengths-based therapy to individuals utilizing a combination of evidence-based techniques including, but not limited to, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, Gestalt, and motivational interviewing methods based on individual needs. Katt is also a trained EMDR practitioner. Katt believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and strives to respond to every client with empathy and respect and to work cooperatively to build genuine trust together.

With combined clinical internship and post-graduation experience, Katt has been practicing therapy for 2 years. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults presenting with a wide range of concerns including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, substance abuse, OCD, relationship issues, trauma, behavioral concerns, grief, and learning disabilities.
